He was close...too close

“The time has come for everything to be settled” I heard Kyle saying.

Suddenly, a well too familiar silver haired man walked in the room. “It is our destiny, maybe even our purpose” he said, while walking toward me.

Kyle did the same, the heart still beating in his hands. “Now Drake...is time for you to come home” he said.

“Yes, come home Drake...to be one again” the other said.

I couldn't fight them, even if I would. I had no choice but to look at Kyle, grabbing a long black sword, and using it...against me.

When my brother killed me, my spirit left my body. I wasn't a dragon anymore, but I wasn't even human. I was a ghost, a wandering spirit, seeking for peace. That was a destiny that no one should suffer, but I unfortunately...I was.

What should I do to save my soul, and find peace? Simple: to end everything. And you know what I mean. I had to destroy my brother's empire...once and for all. And there was only one man that could do that.

I used my new spiritual ability to appear in that room...the room where the three became one once again. I knew that there was a plan, and I had to play a role in it. Drake, Kyle, and Seth...Power, Immortality, Wisdom...the three parts of a god. But even if they had the qualities of a god, they were not a god...yet.

There was only one thing that I must do: guide him to the place where I hid it...the blood that started it all. So, using my deep voice, and my invisibility power...I spoke with him.

I was back, I couldn't believe it. I looked at my body, and at the sword I was holding. It was glowing...that meant that I managed to activate the forbidden spell.

I understood everything when I died. Drake and Seth were parts of my soul, and I needed them to be complete, and to fulfill my destiny. I didn't know what the fate was planing for me. But I knew, that the sword was going to lead me to the truth.

I was right. I heard a voice, coming from the sword. “North...go to the north”

“I will” I said.

Then I grabbed the black knife that Drake dropped when he stepped inside the house. It wasn't really indispensable, but it was useful. My destiny was waiting for me...to the north, the place that started it all.

I reached the house in just a few hours. For some reason, many dragons were following me, but none of them tried to attack me. That was weird...but I didn't want to question my destiny.

I slowly opened the old door, and I walked inside. There was dust everywhere, and the furniture looked...burned. A dragon, or two, lived in that place...many years before.

“The chest...inside the chest” the voice said.

I looked around. The voice was talking about a big golden chest that was placed in the middle of the room. I immediately knelled before it, and I slowly opened it. There was an old bottle inside the chest, it contained something that looked like...dragon blood.

“Drink the blood...let the dragon blood that already flows in your veins become complete” the voice ordered.

In that moment, my human mind was telling me to throw the bottle away. But another mind, a more powerful and old one, was telling me to drink the blood, and take my rightful place in the dragon empire...as a god.

I was tempted...and my human mind was slowly losing his power on my body. I drank the blood, without excitation.

Suddenly, I felt an immense pain in my whole body. And all of sudden...it began.

As a ghost, I looked at the human. He was suffering the same fate I suffered two years before. But he was not like the other dragons, he was something more. I looked at his body, slowly becoming a bloody mess. I saw the four wings growing, the deadly fangs and claws, the red fur, the black scales...hidden beneath the blood and flesh.

And then, all of sudden, the blood and flesh disappeared...and I could see the dragon god of chaos in all his glory. But unfortunately, since I had nothing more to do in the real world...I slowly disappeared. My last destination...the after world...the world after the world....the end of the journey.

But before leaving you, wondering about the future, I will tell you the end of this story. The humans were all dead, and that's pretty obvious. The last ones died a few days after the beginning of the second empire.

The second empire...that's how we call it now. The dragon god of chaos came, and used his powers to banish my brother, and transform him into a mindless slave...that's what he deserved. The god took his place on the throne of the dragon emperor. With him, a new empire was born. Not an empire of mindless domination...but a new order.

And the dragons recreated the world with the help of the god of chaos. Because, the chaos was the beginning of creation...and thanks to the chaos, the world was created once again. And that world was the dragon true paradise. Trust me, that was the real world I wanted to see...right from the start. My brother wanted power, I wanted justice. You will not believe me...but this is the truth, no more and no less.

And to put the world “end” on this story...let's just say that the dragon god found a mate a few years later. And you know...that “mate”, was the woman I saw many years ago in that cave. I don't know who she was, and why she appeared in front of me in the first place. Maybe...she was a goddess...who knows?

And if you want one last scene to end this, I have one for you: the two dragon gods, king and queen of the new world...staring at the red rising sun.
